The ‘Curatorial Knowledge Workshop’ is a year-long residency and event-based project that seeks to develop and distribute ideas on research and curatorship within artist-supporting and non-commercial visual arts organisations internationally, particularly focussing on connections between Europe and Asia. While the programme workshops new methods of creative organisation and curatorship in the specific context of Pakistan, it also presents an alternative to conventional methods of international curatorial research, typically characterised by short, whirlwind visits to foreign countries with 'emerging' art scenes. As such, the programme develops methods through which curators, writers and arts administrators can generate research on international art in both generative and acquisitive ways.
